BITB Conclaves Concept

BITB Conclaves are built around a mandate to position tourism as a mainstream activity of national importance. Tourism is a great leveller in society, provides employment and generates incomes across layers. Responsible tourism nurtures our environment, helps restore and rejuvenate what is best of our heritage and traditions.

Our Conclaves reach out to the wider stakeholders of the tourism product. Not just the hotels and airlines, but a vast pool of enterprises both in government and private enterprise. Tourism straddles across verticals in both government and society. The composite tourism product must become the true driver of the tourism effort.

We recognize new-age drivers for tourism, away from a time when sightseeing was the only understanding of tourism. Tourism today is being driven by education, medical, business, wide ranging events from literary festivals to sporting events. We recognize IPL as a major driver of tourism.

BITB Conclaves embrace the wider industry connect, across all levels, where tourism and travel have begun to be recognized by governments across continents, for economic gain and prosperity. Tourism is the most sustainable force for world peace, a passport to progress.

BITB Conclaves: Looking Back!

BITB Tourism Conclave & Bazaar. October 2016

The first edition of BITB, Bharat International Travel Bazaar, was held last year in October. As a home-grown show, born out of the might of Indian industry, we made significant progress. We have been the first movers in this business, starting some 25 years back, but have re-entered this arena in a newer and bolder era where Indian entrepreneurship is gaining ground, and willing to compete with foreign brands. Last year, we had the most prestigious partnerships with organizations such as ITB Berlin, Ministry of Tourism, DIPP (Ministry of Commerce), and with Air India, leading states such as Delhi as host state, and with a wide array of hotels and states across the country. It was an impressive show, with leading lights visiting, speaking, adding value to tourism in the country. We ran six Power Conclaves which attracted over 60 leaders from the business. One of the sessions was Make in India in Tourism sponsored by DIPP, and anchored by leading Indian industry trade association, IATO. Other sessions were conducted by leading organizations, including Phocuswright, INTACH, CAPA and HVS.

Last year, the inaugural session brought together India's Minster for Tourism and Culture, Dr. Mahesh Sharma; Delhi City's then Lt. Governor, Najeeb Jung; J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Delhi's Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra. BITB awarded 6 leading lights of the industry, among them being Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways; Vikram Oberoi, Director, Oberoi Hotels; Sanjay Reddy, vice-chairman, GVK Airports; Deep Kalra, Mentor and Founder, Make My Trip; Rajeev Sethi, chairman, South Asian Heritage Foundation; and Jose Dominic, Chairman, CGH Earth.

BITB India Tourism Summit. March 2017

Continuing our BITB Conclaves, earlier in March this year, we organized the first ever India Tourism Summit. It was supported by Niti Aayog, DIPP and Ministry of Tourism. It was addressed by senior officers from 8 central ministries, with Niti Ayog CEO, Mr. Amitabh Kant, delivering the keynote address. Another keynote was from Finance Secretary, Mr. Ashok Lavasa. 100 delegates attended. with some 40-senior leadership across the tourism industry. It was also supported by Yes Bank, Andhra Pradesh Tourism, J& K Tourism, and Air India. India Today Television was our TV Channel Partner.

The Summit also acknowledged the movers and shakers of India’s tourism industry, in an outreach to make tourism more inclusive. The awardees included Fab India, DLF Great Mall of India, Haldiram, and Maruti Suzuki - the idea being to acknowledge those drivers for tourism who are overlooked for their contribution to India's travel industry.

BITB Outbound Summit. June 2017

Earlier in June this year, we organized the first ever India Outbound Tourism Summit, again bringing some 40 captains, with over 100 attendees. The speakers included ambassadors and heads of missions, a number of foreign airlines and leading National Tourism Organizations and leading products and services providers.

Each of our efforts are well publicised, as we are a media company ourselves, and we take the route of partnerships, and prominently promote in national mainstream media and social media as well.
